Green Up Poster and Writing Contest
Attention teachers and parents! Mark your calendars for the Green Up Vermont Annual Student Contests for Writing and Poster Design.
Any student K-12 may submit one entry each for Green Up Vermont’s annual contests for poster design and for writing. Entries for the poster design contest must be received by January 31st. One poster design is selected as the official Green Up Day poster, promoting Green Up Day, the first Saturday in May, which will be May 4th, 2019. Three grade category winners are also chosen. Poster entries should be 11x14 inches, created by hand, without the aid of computers, and must include the words “Green Up Vermont.” Writing entries should be a poem or essay of no more than 200 words about Green Up Day and why it is important. Writing entries must be received by March 1st. One Writing Contest winner will be chosen. The overall winner in each contest receives $250.
All poster and writing entries must include the information, depending on whether it is a classroom project or an individual entry, on the back upper right hand corner. Teachers, for classroom projects please include the following information: student name, grade, county, home address; parent/guardian name and phone; teacher’s name, email, and phone. If school confidentiality prevents you from listing student contact information, please be sure to include your email so we can contact you for more information, in the event that you have a student winner. We do still need their name and their grade to be written on the back of the entries.
Parents, for individual entries that are not a part of a classroom project please include: the student’s name, grade, county, home address, your phone number, and email address. All entries should be mailed to Green Up Vermont, P.O. Box 1191, Montpelier, VT 05601-1191, or delivered to the Green Up Vermont office at 14-16 Baldwin Street by January 31st. All rights for use and reproduction belong to Green Up Vermont. Entries will not be returned.
